ELI-NP, Măgurele.
CIPRIERN organized a technical visit to ELI-NP – Extreme Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics, part of the IFIN-HH, one of the most advanced research infrastructures in the world. The visit was attended by representatives of CNCAN and experts Gordon Asartenga Ajubala and Lennox Assan from the Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
The visit provided practical insight into:
- The operation of the ultra-intense laser system, the most powerful in the world (10 PW);
- Applications of laser and gamma beam research in science and technology.
Main objectives:
- Gaining an applied understanding of the principles and potential of the ELI-NP infrastructure;
- Becoming familiar with the facility’s equipment, workflows, and research directions.
