The international ConvEx-3 (2025), hosted by Romania and coordinated under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency, was organized by CNCAN and involved national authorities, international institutions, and partners from over 80 countries.
Exercise scenario included:
- A severe accident at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant, with cross-border implications;
- Activation of national emergency plans and coordination structures;
- Testing international cooperation mechanisms.
Main objectives:
- Improving the global capacity to respond to nuclear emergencies by strengthening international cooperation, enhancing interoperability among states, and effectively applying IAEA standards in practice.
